IHM Parish

 About Our Parish

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, a Catholic church dedicated to welcoming everyone with open arms. We strive to meet the spiritual and physical needs of our growing parish family and diverse community through prayer, faith formation, evangelization, stewardship, fellowship, and social justice. It offers our parishioners for a deepening conversion, a step forward in the journey to God, with the support of all of our pastoral ministries. Under the Immaculate Heart of Mary we invite people from our community and beyond into the saving moment of faith, hope and charity, so that they may be reconciled and transformed into living symbols of Christ’s presence in the world. It is here that the faithful gather to worship God, give honor to Mary, and are sent to spread God’s word wherever they go. We invite you to visit us, and pray for our community and our parish- Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

Sacraments

El Santo Bautismo es la base de toda la vida cristiana, la puerta de entrada a la vida en el Espíritu y la puerta que da acceso a los demás sacramentos.

The tradition of the presenting of a child to God, and to the Church, stems from the desire by parents to ask for divine protection for their newborn, and thanksgiving for a safe childbirth.

In the Church’s Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, through the ministry of the priest, it is Jesus who touches the sick to heal them from sin – and sometimes even from physical ailment. The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament. A careful judgment about the serious nature of the illness is sufficient.

To schedule a funeral with our parish, you must first contact the mortuary of your choice to handle the necessary arrangements. The mortuary will then contact the pastoral office and schedule a time for the mass or service. As a general rule, the funeral mass for a Catholic is celebrated in his or her own parish church. Funeral masses are celebrated during the week, in the mornings. For further questions please contact the Pastoral Office at 714-751-5335.
